As much as I wanted to hit Rangers on this, I couldn’t. One reason is that I want to keep my emotions out of these bets.
The second reason is that Shesterkin has not been as good as he is. He has been uncertain from time to time, even though he is one of the best goalies in the league.
Martin Jones, who is a fantastic goalie, also is going to have a first start of the season, and I’m expecting it to go well.
If Leafs can focus on the defence, i expect them to make 1 or 2 more goals on the regular.
VGK – CGY
Pick: Vegas Golden Knights -1.5 @2.23
Reasoning :
Vegas hosting Flames at T-Mobile tonight. Knights seems like they are finding the mood that they had last year when dominating playoffs. Their offensive game has been strong and complete lately, and they do enjoy scoring right now. In the last 3 games, they have outscored their opponents 17-8.
The Flames have been struggling with goaltending lately, and Dustin Wolf seems to be projected tonight.
Expect the Knights to hit the net a few times more.
